H1 and H2
Chemistry are both highly demanding subjects at Junior College, but the latter,
due to its wider study scope, is a bigger challenge for students. But while H2
Chemistry is the harder option, a lot of students choose to take it anyway
because of its ability to open doors for them in the future. Doing well in the
A-Level exams for H2 Chemistry can land students a spot in their dream
university, get them into their dream course, and even qualify them for the
profession they want to pursue.
A student
who did well for their O-Level exams inChemistry may think they can breeze through H2 Chemistry, but that's a
risky assumption to make! H2 Chemistry is a completely different game of ball
requiring a much steeper learning curve than the subject of Chemistry in
secondary school. Nearly all of the topics in the syllabus of H2 Chemistry are
new and unfamiliar and demand a much higher level of analytical thinking. It
does not help either that professors of JC go much faster than teachers of
secondary school, leaving many of their students
of H2 Chemistry lost and confused.
If you want
to take up H2 Chemistry in JC and plan to do well in it, the best course of
action would be to get help from a home tutor who will equip you for all of the
subject's challenges and needs. There are countless theories in H2 Chemistry that need to be memorized, but a good home
tutor will not only help you commit them to memory — they will make sure you
fully understand the complex concepts and can apply your knowledge when
answering various kinds of question formats. H2 Chemistry requires higher-order
thinking and while schools are not always able to fine-tune such skills in
students, there is a H2 chemistrytuition in Singapore to fill in
for the deficiencies.
With a home
tutor's expertise, you'll also be much better prepared for your A-level H2
Chemistry exam! Two years isn't a lot of time to cover all the topics but a
good home tutor will set the right pace for revisions and make sure that all
the bases are covered once the big day rolls around. They will also teach you
the best answering techniques and give you ample opportunities to practice them
so that when you take your exam you will know exactly what you are doing. Home
tutors are going to 'rehear' you for the A-levels so you are relaxed, confident
and competent!
Some
tuition centers offering such crash coursesin chemistry said their intake has risen from last year by at least 10
percent. Some are over-subscribed and each has waiting lists of up to 15
students.
Fees range
from $180 to $900, depending on study duration and study level. These courses
accommodate from 10 to 150 students.
The intake
of short courses for H2 chemistry
for various subjects at the O- and A-level, such as chemistry and general
paper, has risen 60 per cent from last year, said one tutor.
Such
courses have been attended by hundreds of high school and junior college
students, which can last from a day to a few months, believing they will boost
their grades at national examinations.
This year
at least 30 such courses have been or will be held. While some are held during
the school holidays, others are held just days before the students sit their
examinations.
H2 Chemistry Home Tutors vs Chemistry Tuition Centers
While
teacher education centers can also help students
in H2 Chemistry, the holistic approach of home tuition provides more
effective solutions. A home tutor can accurately assess the areas of weakness
of a student, and develop a tailored lesson plan for them. A trusted H2 Chemistry tuition center will use the most appropriate
teaching methods to make the lessons more engaging and understandable for each
student, whether it is using examples, analogies or visual aids.
